Good morning to you all. This is the sight I see out of the kitchen window this morning all cold crisp and fresh, healthy weather as my Dad would of said.I was up rather early this morning after a restless night again tut tut !!!! but never mind the days are longer and I can get more done and have time to sit blogging, sewing, reading or anything else I wish to do after a early start getting the household jobs done first and out of the way.
Iv not posted for a while but I do have lots of photos I want to share with you I just need to sort them out first I may get round to doing that later today,Iv done quite a bit of sewing which Id like to share with you so some pics of that as well.I was very lucky to win a giveaway last week over at http://fading-grace.blogspot.com/ it is beautiful so I will post a pic of that later for you to see,I am going to be busy.
My washer sounds as if it has just finished its last spin my last load for the day, don't think its going to get hung out tho it will probably just freeze out there today so Ill put it on the airer and in front of the fire,I have a tumble dryer but try not to use it too much and these clothes don't want to go in the tumbler anyway. So I will love you and leave you for now and return later this afternoon. What are you all getting up to today not mischief I hope or if you are enjoy it.Keep warm and happy my friends.bye for now.Love Jill xx

My day and the weather.
This morning when I got out of my warm cosy bed the cold greated me and made me want to jump back into bed.I hate the bit in between getting out of bed and getting to the bathroom,we sleep in the attic bedroom so by the time Iv got from bed to bathroom on a cold morning like this Iv got goose pimples on me goose pimples even when the heating is on.The village was sparkling white with frost and nobody about, after stocking the coal fire and feeding pussy cat Patchouli my kettle had boiled and a cup of tea was very welcome, I cannot function properly until I have had my first cuppa, don't like coffee first thing its gotta be tea.I had to go out to the next village which is only 10mins by car and the reading on the dashboard told me the temperature was minus 6.I know its been colder in other parts of the country but I did sit and shiver until the car had warmed up.
To keep myself warm I have cleaned the bedrooms changed the beds and got all the washing done the ironing will be done tomorrow to keep me warm.It started to snow at 2.30pm and as I type this at 10.25pm it hasn't stopped so just like most of the country we are white over.It does look very pretty but it causes so much havoc every where it just causes worry. My daughter and her family went to see friends for a birthday party today and I was on tender hooks until I got the phone call to say they where home safe and sound.
Well we will see what tomorrow brings, I will have a walk with my camera and post some pics like I'm sure lots of bloggers will do but I think its always nice to see others pics .Iv got me bed socks on and extra blanket on the bed, going to fill the hot water bottle now and put that in,wont be long until I turn in tonight I'm tired.Hopefully I will be able to sleep better than I did last night when I seemed to count sheep all night .Pussy cat Patchouli is now looking at me as if to "when are we going to bed"so I better shift myself.
Good night my friends sleep well and keep warm.Love Jill xxx
P.S. Why is it when ya cold and could do with a hot sweat ya dont get one? xx

C is for a Challenge.
This morning as I was sat eating my Cereals for breakfast I was wondering what I could do for ABC Wednesday,I had not planned anything so it was going to be a bit of a Challenge for me.So as I pottered on putting the washing in and Cleaning the Coal fire out I thought why not see how many Chores I did and items I could find during my day beginning with C. After having Coffee I went to the village shop which is at the other side of the train Crossing ,it is Called the Coop,I should of taken my Camera to show you where I went.I bought a Card to be posted for a friends birthday,a pkt of Chocolate biscuits and some Cheese.
I Cleaned my sitting room one item that was dusted was the Chandelier which hangs from the Ceiling and has some Crystals hanging from it. Once I had finished the room looked all Comfortable and Cosy.
This little dish has some of my Crystals in it, the orange on is a Carnelian .
After lunch I spent a Couple of hours at my sewing table finishing off some Cushions I have been making.
These are the finished ones many more to finish yet,Im loving all these Colours.
I had a dust and hover around our bedroom and lots of C's Caught my eye.On this Chest of draws is a Cotton Cloth with a Collection of my China,a Cross stitch picture, a Cross which holds a Candle.
This Cross trainer is in our room,I don't use it as often as I should but my 3 grand Children love to use it,bless them they are Clocking the miles up for grandma.
Came aCross this book one of my favourite foot ballers Cantona,I know he isn't everybody Cup of tea but he has Collected quite a few Cups for the Clubs he has played for.
This Cross stitch is one I did a few years ago,I love the words they mean so much.
This rocking Chair I have had since I was a teenager, it has my grandmas Crochet blanket and some Cushions on it.
5 of my favourite Cd's,one is Eric Clapton and another is Cat Stevens.
These are my Chill out Cd's.
This little Cupboard was bought at a Car boot sale, love the China Cups on top.
Some of the many Cups I own.
The Clock that lives in the Kitchen above the Cooker.
As I was setting the table for our evening meal I placed the Cutlery on the table Cloth.
Drained the pasta in the Colander.
Because I am Counting the Calories at the moment I have to keep the Crisps tucked away out of sight in a Cupboard,my favourite flavour are Cheese and onion.
The only Cheese I try to Consume is the laughing Cow Cheese at the moment, light and Creamy.
I have Changed the Calender ready for morning.
As I put some more Coal on the fire I Caught sight of a Candle I had lit earlier beside my little Cauldron,
and a Cheeky pussy Cat Patchouli Curled up Cosy keeping warm.
Then as I stood up I noticed I am wearing my silver Celtic Cross which is on a silver Chain.
Phew that was a Challenge, all those C's.Now I am Curious to see what your C's are so I will sign off for now and go and have a look. You all take Care of yourselves and keep warm, bye for now Love Jill xx

Winter Solstice
It was a beautiful day here for Winter Solstice the sun was shinning all day and it was quite warm.I pottered about the house doing a few jobs and out into the garden to do a bit of tidying up and put some fresh food out for the birds. All was quite peaceful I could of stayed out for a long time but the light stopped me.These are a few photos I took of the sky as the sun was going down.
I read in a few blog's that I follow that some were joining in with a fire ceremony to release the old year and shift up into the new ,The Mother of all releasing ceremony. All you have to do is make a little bundle with a square of fabric and assemble some herbs, incense and add some small bits of paper with your releasing wishes on then tie it up,then burn it.. So last night at 10 pm I made my little bundle with my incense and some sage and lemon thyme,I took my little cauldron into the garden and there I did my own little ceremony. These are my photos of my bundle smouldering away. Now !!when I looked back through my photos on some of them I could see pictures in the smoke,is it my eyes just playing tricks on me or do you see any ?Please let me know, and no I had not had one to many before I saw them LOL.I did enjoy my little ceremony and pleased I joined in and will be watching out for any more.Look forward to your comments.Hope you had a lovely Solstice what ever you were doing.
Bye for now,Love Jill xx

W is for Whitby.
As I am a Whitby girl I could not post anything else for ABC Wednesday but photos of Whitby.I have always looked out for the Abbey on my return journey home, even though I have lived in a village a few miles away now for 18yrs.From a few miles outside Whitby you can see the Abbey proudly standing on the east cliffs. When my children were small we used to play "first one to see the Abbey"on our way home.I think these 3 photos are among the best ones I have seen they capture the beauty of it just perfect.
Hope you enjoy my photos and if you have not already visit one day.
Love Jill xx

| This picture is of the harbour taken from the West side. |

| And this one from the East side. |
![]() |
| This street is called Church street and leads up to the 199 steps past lots of quirky little shops. |
![]() |
| This is St Hilda's church which is on the west side and probably the biggest church in Whitby was completed in 1888.it is also were my parents got married. |
![]() |
| The whale bones are on the west side, these were given from Alaska in 2003 but the original jaw arch was erected around 1853. |
![]() |
| This is a lovely view of the 199 steps from the Abbey.People come from all around the world to climb them, to count them and to see the lovely view of the town at the top,and of course the Abbey. |

| I think this is quite a special photo of Whitby in the moon light. |
