Snow is falling.

   Evening my dear friends,It is a very cold night here in the valley and we are now covered in the white stuff again.We had enough left but happily the roads where open but now looking out they are well covered,well at least we have supplies in and the fresh stuff we got today will keep us going nicely for at least a week.I had to go to the dentist for a check up this morning in Scarborough did our little shop then went to see our friends Connie and Mike.We have been friends for a lot of years but lost touch for a while but we are back on track and not leaving it again now that is for sure.They live in Robin Hoods Bay on the coast it was very cold there but no snow to speak of.On the way home the snow was blowing of the fields and causing havoc but we made it home in one piece.The wind is howling around the house tonight it sounds quite haunting and the snow has blown up and covered some of the windows.I'm going now to put some woolie socks on a long nightie that can be tucked in to the socks I bet you can just imagine the passion killers can you lol No I'm not putting a pic on.

   PS I forgot to mention I lost a lb at slimming world this week bit disappointed cos I had liked on home made soup all week but at least it was off.xxx

Walking in a winter wonderland.

Hi you lovely people out there in bloggy land,hope you are all keeping well and warm.I have just about got over my dreadful cold that I had only an annoying cough left that only starts when I am talking on the phone or when I'v been laid down for a while in bed,hubby says the answer to coughing while talking is not to talk so much,I wont tell you what I said to him !!!!  I went to slimming world on Tuesday for my first weigh in and I have lost 8and a half pound,I am chuffed with myself and up to now this week I have done what I am supposed to and not been led off the straight and narrow so here's to another good week.

 I thought I would put some of my photos here today along with the majority of bloggers out there.I was sat with my coffee this morning and looked out into the white world and just had to get myself wrapped up and out there.It is cold but I don't think its as cold as it has been and is going to be,but was that because of the amount of clothes I had on,2 pairs of socks,1 t shirt, 1 blouse, 2 jumpers,scarf,hat coat,1 pair of gloves and 1 pair of fingerless gloves (and a partridge in a pear tree LOL) I could hardly breath,I was so glad that I didn't get a hot sweat while out there I can tell you because you would of heard about it on the news,Woman in Yorkshire strips in the freezing cold,would of been the headlines,not a pretty sight!!   Any way here are my pics.

      Where ever you walk around here it is up hill.

          Always amazes me how such delicate little branches can hold so much heavy snow.

                       Do you like my gloves and mitts they are very warm.

             Icicles on the  cliffs around the river are very beautiful altho a couple of years ago when we had a bad winter there was a lot more than this year.

            We have put lots of food out daily for the birds,this morning I put out these sweet crisps that had not got eaten and the birds flew down for them you would have thought they had never fed before. They have waited in the trees for me each morning to go out with food for them bless them they are lovely I could watch them flying in and out the garden all day,sounds like a good idea to me but who would feed me???

Talking of food I had better get some thing sorted for the men's dinner,I know what I am having I made a large pot of soup for myself to last me a few days which has everything I am allowed to eat without disturbing my diet lots of veg and beans and tasty herbs and spices,with a big sign above the pot KEEP OFF JILL'S,other wise hubby would be dipping into it not that I mind but its mine and I don't often just cook for myself and only myself,and its not as if I wont cook something nice for them.
   Well I will be back later to look through your blogg's ,keep warm and if you have to travel stay safe.

Chilling.

      Hi bloggy friends,I didn't sleep well last night coughed and spluttered like something demented!!! I drove into town earlier and got some more lemsips,a Vick's nasal spray, throat lozenges and more tissues nice soft ones for my poor nose.I decided to just chill for the afternoon and forget about the jobs in and out of the house after all nobody is going to notice if I dont do them are they.I have stocked up the fire with coal and logs so that is keeping us nice and warm and there is plenty to eat that wont take much cooking at t time so we are set for a few hours.Iv got my sewing out head phones in with Fleetwood Mac singing to me so Im quite content to chill.

Walk in the snow.

Morning all. After my breakfast and a quick tidy up it was on with the wellies,coat,scarf and gloves and off for a walk with my camera.It didn't snow any more during the night just what laid before bed time,we do have 3inchs though.Hope you enjoy my photos and its not to many.

                                           We do have a beautiful church in our village and the bell is still rung on sunday morning before service.

                                           There are some little duck foot prints on this ice in the river,glad I dont need to walk across it.

                                          Once home I went  into the garden at the back of the house,all the little plants that were pepping through are covered over just hope they dont die now.

                                          We have just had some of the walls in the celler dry lined and plastered,so hubby has had his paint out and white washed, then just could not resist drawing some of our favourite pagan symbols.He has made it look lovely in this part of the celler, I think when it warms up a bit I will be able to sit in there with some candles and insense burning and do my meditating,oh can not wait for warm weather.

                                           Now I am just going to make myself a cuppa and sit and read for a while before cooking dinner,the fire is so inviting the only thing is do I sit
