COLD AND DULL.

        Brrrrr its cold and dull here in North Yorkshire today I'm stopping in to stay warm,Iv done my housework for today more could be done but my excuse for not dusting is its Halloween and ya gotta have dust and cobwebs about for it.My house is tidy and Iv cleaned the bathroom and kitchen the important rooms,hearth is clean and sitting room hoovered so that's it for today I made a veg soup yesterday whilst cooking the Sunday roast so that is just getting warmed up now for our lunch then tonight we are having homemade chicken Kiev's,potatoes and cauli already just to put in the oven later.I'm not always this organised but I just wanted a afternoon sewing somethings I have started for  Christmas,I have finished a small quilt that I started last year and didn't have time to finish and now I am making a table runner for the kitchen and I have a advent quilt hanging that I want to do as well so this is why I need to organise myself a bit better than usual. The fire is burning away nicley as I post this to you Im going to see if there is a nice film on we can watch,hubby is quite happy to watch a film as long its not one that is too girly.Hubby is doing better than he was he is getting around the house a bit better now he has his appointment with the surgen next week so we will see if there is any treatment he can have to help him.

Sunday.

We have had a lovely day today the sun has being shining all day,the trees look beautiful all golden and crisp such a pretty picture for everyone to see.I woke this morning determined I was not going to let this cold beat me,I had a bad night tossing and turning,coughing and sneezing as we do when the cold strikes,but there I was lemsip in hand looking out of the window and making a promise to myself that I was having
a good day.After breakfast I got my few jobs done ,that was another promise to myself no housework today,then on with my shoes, gave hubby his news paper and cuppa and I went for a walk not far just for half hour but I did feel better for it.It doesn't  take long to have a walk in the village before someone stops you for a natter so that was nice as well,I think I have kind of locked myself away this last few weeks while looking after hubby and its not done me good but he has been my top priority.
At Lunch time a friend came to take us out for lunch just up to the next village he has a high four wheel drive car which was so easy for hubby to get into it was wonderful for him not like our car it  is a focus and not very high.We had a lovely carvery and a pudding,oops there goes the diet !!!and a good old chin wag it was just fab.This afternoon we have just sat chatting about nothing in particular I did sons dinner for him and that is where my day has ended apart from sitting down and catching up with blog land while hubby watches some film I'm not interested in,what would we do without our blogs and crafts I think Id go do -lally- tap over night .Im now going to have a large brandy,the same friend that took us for lunch goes to Germany and brings me back Asbac brandy what a little darling he is he knows I have a passion for brandy,so Im off now to pour myself a large one maybe I will sleep better tonight after that,fingers crossed.

October

    October has nearly gone and this is my first posting,had so much family stuff going on not had time to sit and blog.This morning we are having a lot of hail stones rain and a bit of sunshine peeping thro but not quite getting there, its not as cold has it has been but still cold.
    We still have not found our dog Bilko,it is very sad to think that he has gone and we dont have a clue as to what happened to him,maybe it is better that we dont know.
    Next weekend we have halloween to look forward to,I think my interest in witches and magic gets carried away a bit at this time of year cos i do like to dress my house and get ready for the children knocking for trick or treat.Im going to make some cakes and treats for my grandsons this year as they are a bit older and will love to get into halloween this year, Billy likes spiders and creepy things now just like all little boys.I think a halloween party maybe calling.
   Then we will have christmas knocking at the door it is not far away now.I always have great promises to myself in the new year that i will get organised better than last year and when it comes to this time i have nothing done,i have ordered a couple of prezzies for two of my friends but that is as far as i have got.The best part of christmas for me is wrapping prezzies up with all the lovley paper and adding ribbons and bows and watching the childrens faces as they open them,its just bliss.
   Well its taken me all day to write this post as i have kept getting disturbed and not a lot written,must be telling me something,so i will say bye for now and get back tomorrow.xx
