Catch up.

Hello folks hope you are all well and happy.I am feeling happier in myself but have the lurgy,a real stinker of a cold.I had cold over Christmas but it didn't amount to much and I have felt rather blocked up but Friday morning when I got up I just knew that I was starting.Iv kept having lots to drink and plenty of lemon to attack it,I have a real sore nose looks like a beetroot it does, bit late for a Rudolf nose isn't it !!
The weather has been dull, damp and mild today not quite a January day,as I fed the birds I noticed that I have little primroses coming out, bulbs starting to pop their little heads through and primulas starting to come alive in my little garden but is it not too soon to see all this happening this early in the year? I was told today that we may have snow later in the week which is more like January weather but then it may kill off what is sprouting in the gardens but I'm sure a few weeks of cold fresh day's would also kill off all the germs that are about.
I have sat here tonight watching telly and not really taking in much of what I have watched I don't know if it is just me or does anyone else feel the same but there is not a lot on telly now that really catches my eye.I do like a good film when there is one on and loved the program Joanna Lumley did about Noah's ark that was on at Christmas but not much else.I sit with my sewing on an evening and hubby will sit watching the telly and I just haven't a clue what the  program is about.Think that if I lived on my own Id never turn the thing on,and what I could do with the space it takes up,my sewing machine could be brought down and put in that corner or I could get another book shelf and more books but I know hubby will not part with the telly.I have some ear phones for my laptop so I think I may just have to start using them while sewing I can listen to music and not disturb the hubbys telly. If I have anything to sew on the machine I sit upstairs in my little den but it is nice to sit around the fire and sew on winter evenings without the telly on and just some nice music playing.Iv lost all track now of why I started to tell you this, ranting on as usuall !! Never mind you now know that I have fallen out with the telly.
Anyway hubby has gone to bed telly is switched off I have got a warm drink of milk with some honey in and a pile of nice soft tissues for my poor sore nose,a warm fire to sit in front of with my book for an hour or so untill I feel sleepey.I hope the weather is nice tomorrow then I can get some washing put outside to air a bit and maybe get the windows cleaned they are shocking Im sure that I wont need to put lights on in the house if I clean my windows, yes they really are that bad !!
I will bid you a good night  hope you all sleep well and look forward to reading your blogs tomorrow to see what you are getting up to.Bye for now Love Jill xx
PS sorry if I rant on a bit xx
PPS I did have some pic's of my garden to show you but blogger just wont let me load them, arrrgh.x

  1. Oh, Jill, I'm so sorry about your feeling poorly. It has been 3 whole weeks that I've had a nasty cold and flu and I finally had to resort to getting some cough medecine with codeine in it so I could sleep. My voice is so raw and hoarse and I hope my students won't notice when they come tomorrow. At least I don't have a full week's worth of students until the following week and hopefully, by that time I will be completely okay. It's been grey, rainy, and very dreary out lately and it doesn't make us want to do much. Except last Thursday we did manage an hour's walk along the dyke to try to spot the snowy owls that have returned again this year. I got a few shots but more of herons, both at the dyke and along the road. A couple of my photos (not those ones) have been featured on Red Bubble and I'm feeling very happy about that! I also have one in a challenge that is getting quite a few votes now...will let you know if it wins! In the meantime, just stay warm and drink your hot lemon drinks, but if you get a nasty cough, don't hesitate to get some medecine with codeine in it...it really works!

  2. I absolutely agree about the TV programmes, with one or two exceptions the programmes are a load of rubbish these days. Your idea for that corner sounds much better than a TV:) Hope you feel better soon.

  3. Glad you are feeling happier but sorry about the cold! hope it improves very quickly, especially the sore nose. I agree not much on TV these days, but I did enjoy Mr Selfridges last night, so if you didn't watch it, that might be one worth seeing!

  4. Getting rid of the TV was the best thing we ever did. My DH used to sit mesmerised to all sorts of rubbish. He says he doesn't miss it, although we do watch DVDs or listen to an audio book.
Hope you are feeling better, these colds do drag on and make you feel low. Sending you Glastonbury lurve...

  5. JILL, Ignore the washing, turn your back on the windows, put your feet up and rest. Borgen has just started again on Saturday nights, but apart from that, I agree, nothing to watch on TV.
