R is for Railway and Rural.

This is my first contribution to ABC Wednesday
I am so looking forward to being part of this weekly meme......I am also very fortunate in having Denise Nesbitt  as one of my best friends, so I can't wait to meet so many of the lovely bloggers she speaks of  x.

We live near a steam railway,it is in the north Yorkshire moors and is a very pretty journey,my 3 grandsons love it,always listening and looking for it.

Whilst on holiday in Glastonbury we visited the Rural life museum,I found it very interesting and loved all the kitchen equipment they used although I am glad I do not have to use it as I'd never get time for blogging.

Hope my first contribution will be read with interest and I look forward to reading lots of other contributions.

  3. It certainly was interesting, Jill. As a child they were all steam railways - how I wish I'd paid them more attention at the time! But my memories don't go back to much of the kitchen equipment though we did have a mangle for wringing the water out of the clothes.

  8. A steam-powered train is a rare commodity where I am in BC. They always remind me of an Agatha Christie novel. How wonderful to be able see it coming around the bend and even better to ride in it through the countryside. :)

  9. Life looks hard back then, doesn't it? But then it was simple and didn't have the complexities and complications we are having today. Thanks for dropping by my nook. I imagine you by your fireplace blogging. Now I miss England!
