I am so looking forward to being part of this weekly meme......I am also very fortunate in having Denise Nesbitt as one of my best friends, so I can't wait to meet so many of the lovely bloggers she speaks of x.
We live near a steam railway,it is in the north Yorkshire moors and is a very pretty journey,my 3 grandsons love it,always listening and looking for it.
Hope my first contribution will be read with interest and I look forward to reading lots of other contributions.

Welcome to ABC, I like your first entry!
ReplyDeleteMy R is about Raking Leaves, please come and see.
It certainly was interesting, Jill. As a child they were all steam railways - how I wish I'd paid them more attention at the time! But my memories don't go back to much of the kitchen equipment though we did have a mangle for wringing the water out of the clothes.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'd like to follow your blog but there isn't a Followers list that I can see. Any chance of adding one? :)
ReplyDeleteP.P.S. Sorry - found it - at the bottom - I was expecting it to be in the side bar.
ReplyDeleteWelcome aboard Jill - looking forward to your future weeks. A great band of people here who you will get to know I am sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks again

A steam-powered train is a rare commodity where I am in BC. They always remind me of an Agatha Christie novel. How wonderful to be able see it coming around the bend and even better to ride in it through the countryside. :)
ReplyDeleteLife looks hard back then, doesn't it? But then it was simple and didn't have the complexities and complications we are having today. Thanks for dropping by my nook. I imagine you by your fireplace blogging. Now I miss England!
ReplyDeleteineteresting photos. thanks for sharing them.
