Snow is falling.

   Evening my dear friends,It is a very cold night here in the valley and we are now covered in the white stuff again.We had enough left but happily the roads where open but now looking out they are well covered,well at least we have supplies in and the fresh stuff we got today will keep us going nicely for at least a week.I had to go to the dentist for a check up this morning in Scarborough did our little shop then went to see our friends Connie and Mike.We have been friends for a lot of years but lost touch for a while but we are back on track and not leaving it again now that is for sure.They live in Robin Hoods Bay on the coast it was very cold there but no snow to speak of.On the way home the snow was blowing of the fields and causing havoc but we made it home in one piece.The wind is howling around the house tonight it sounds quite haunting and the snow has blown up and covered some of the windows.I'm going now to put some woolie socks on a long nightie that can be tucked in to the socks I bet you can just imagine the passion killers can you lol No I'm not putting a pic on.

   PS I forgot to mention I lost a lb at slimming world this week bit disappointed cos I had liked on home made soup all week but at least it was off.xxx

Chilling.

      Hi bloggy friends,I didn't sleep well last night coughed and spluttered like something demented!!! I drove into town earlier and got some more lemsips,a Vick's nasal spray, throat lozenges and more tissues nice soft ones for my poor nose.I decided to just chill for the afternoon and forget about the jobs in and out of the house after all nobody is going to notice if I dont do them are they.I have stocked up the fire with coal and logs so that is keeping us nice and warm and there is plenty to eat that wont take much cooking at t time so we are set for a few hours.Iv got my sewing out head phones in with Fleetwood Mac singing to me so Im quite content to chill.

Dentist update.

We had a lovely drive to Scarborough this afternoon the sun was shining the wind was blowing the trees and leaves gently falling to the ground,they looked beautiful swirling  around the paths and roads in their golden colours.I don't have to have anything done at the dentist thank goodness,she took an xray of the crown that has bothered me and cannot see anything wrong I have to use a sensitive toothpaste, apparently I am brushing away my gums as I have very good oral hygiene I brush to much,ya cant do right for doing wrong can ya!!
  I have spent a couple of hours sewing in my little room cosy and happy a few more squares sewn together for a quilt,I'm sat now posting this in front of the fire with a glass of wine and just about ready for my bed,so I will say a good night to you all and hope you all sleep well.

Mother Nature.

Well !! isn't that just typical,when I last popped in about 2hrs ago I told you it was a yuckey morning,it isn't now i'ts beautiful.We have blue skies and sunshine so it will be quite a nice drive to Scarborough this afternoon. I'll pop in tonight to let you know how I get on at the dentist.

Quick post.

       Hello bloggy friends hope you are all well and warm.Its a real miserable day here today in North Yorkshire,no sunshine no blue clouds just grey skies and drizzle, yuck!I have a few jobs to do this morning when I can get myself out of the seat where I  am nice cosy warm,then its a trip to Scarborough for the dentist this afternoon.Scarborough is only about 20 miles from us but on a day like today it seems 120 miles away.I am having problems with one of my teeth that is crowned it hurts when I have a hot drink and now the weather is cold the cold air is making it hurt so Id better get it sorted.Then its back home to cook dinner for tonight and then I'm having a few hours in my little girlie attic room sewing,hubby and son have a film they want to watch tonight so I can just disappear and do what I want,WHOOP WHOOP!!!!!.   I bought some materials yesterday to make a quilt cover for my friends granddaughters cot and some for a quilt I'm going to make for my middle grandsons bed,and Iv also started a quilt for my nephews little girls bed, so Iv got plenty to keep me happy and out of mischief for a while.

Sunday.

We have had a lovely day today the sun has being shining all day,the trees look beautiful all golden and crisp such a pretty picture for everyone to see.I woke this morning determined I was not going to let this cold beat me,I had a bad night tossing and turning,coughing and sneezing as we do when the cold strikes,but there I was lemsip in hand looking out of the window and making a promise to myself that I was having
a good day.After breakfast I got my few jobs done ,that was another promise to myself no housework today,then on with my shoes, gave hubby his news paper and cuppa and I went for a walk not far just for half hour but I did feel better for it.It doesn't  take long to have a walk in the village before someone stops you for a natter so that was nice as well,I think I have kind of locked myself away this last few weeks while looking after hubby and its not done me good but he has been my top priority.
At Lunch time a friend came to take us out for lunch just up to the next village he has a high four wheel drive car which was so easy for hubby to get into it was wonderful for him not like our car it  is a focus and not very high.We had a lovely carvery and a pudding,oops there goes the diet !!!and a good old chin wag it was just fab.This afternoon we have just sat chatting about nothing in particular I did sons dinner for him and that is where my day has ended apart from sitting down and catching up with blog land while hubby watches some film I'm not interested in,what would we do without our blogs and crafts I think Id go do -lally- tap over night .Im now going to have a large brandy,the same friend that took us for lunch goes to Germany and brings me back Asbac brandy what a little darling he is he knows I have a passion for brandy,so Im off now to pour myself a large one maybe I will sleep better tonight after that,fingers crossed.

Dentist

            Dentist in the morning not looking forward to it at all,got to have a filling and some work done to a root canal filling I had done 7yrs ago.But the pain will not be as bad as the pain I had 7yrs ago that was dreadful ,I would rather of gone through a week of labour,giving birth is nothing compared to tooth ache.

Night time.

       Its very quite here only the sound of the clock ticking me tapping on the laptop and the sound of the cat Patchouli tip toeing about upstairs as she goes from one room to the next checking on everyone,or looking for mischief.My eldest grandson Billy is here tonight all cosy snug in bed with his teddy sleeping soundly,our son Jack in his room fast asleep after a day at work,and hubby also has gone to bed and I can hear him gently snoring away there even tho he is 2 floors up so maybe not so gently.I love it when I get to have the space to myself before bedtime I get time to unwind by just  pottering about doing a bit of this and a bit of that nothing much but potter.
     It has been a beautiful day here today and the forcast is good for tomorrow as well so maybe the Indian summer which was forecast  has come.I got lots of washing done and on the line today that is waiting to be ironed and some more washing to go out in the morning so that is what I will be doing tomorrow when I have taken Billy to school and then some gardening and tending the pots at the front of the house as they are starting to look a bit worse for wear..Now I will do half  hour pottering and then go curl up with Billy as he likes me to sleep with him when he is here (well he is only 6) may have to read a couple of chapters of the book I am reading at the moment before I go into the land of nod.
